Melchemy Meads are crafted dry: UPROOTED • Ginger Turmeric with Peppercorn — Cask(A)

Not of our bioregion, these flavors come to us by way of Hawaii. Our mazer couldn’t pass up farm-fresh ginger and turmeric from a visit to the Big Island. Paired with a touch of black pepper to create a smooth spice on top of subtle sweet notes of local western Oregon honey and a hint of oak from barrel aging. Best enjoyed chilled.

Flavors (Cask A)
Local Wildflower Honey -

We use honey from this ecoregion, derived from honeybees' pollination of mostly wildflowers and blackberry blossoms.

Ginger & Turmeric - Zingiber officinale & Curcuma longa

We source fresh, local-grown, organic ginger and turmeric from the worker-owned Organically Grown Company. This root combo is warming and classically useful---a combo often found alongside honey and lemon in tonics.

Black Peppercorn Piperaceae - Piper nigrum

Because Turmeric has to be made bio-available for the body to use it, we threw in some peppercorns to assist with that process, as well as to complement the overall flavor pallet with a bit more spice.

American Oak Barrel Aged - Raw / Untoasted

Some flavors call for aging in a raw, untoasted American oak barrel, for a purer taste of oak.
